Keeping track of our gate keeps

We keep raving on about why you should use a gate keep with your gate lock. But which gate keep goes with which lock?

Read on as we give you the full overview of our gate keeps and their compatible locks.

What is a gate keep?

A gate keep is an additional piece of gate hardware and can help making your gate more secure. They are fitted to your gate post, receives the latch, and holds the gate shut.  There are many reasons why we recommend using a gate keep, a topic we explain in depth in this blog.

Below we will give you an overview of which locks our gate keeps work with, so you can find the perfect gate hardware set-up. But do keep in mind that we supply all our locks with a strike plate. This works as a basic keep, which allows the lock to latch smoothly and houses the latch bolt when the gate is closed.

Secure keep – BSK

The BSK secure keep

The BSK Superlock Secure Keep is the standard keep we offer with our Superlock range. It includes integrated rubber buffers to reduce the noise and vibrations from the closing gate and protects the latch bolt from all four sides. The keep is universally handed and can be used for both left- and right-handed gates (just turn it the correct way).

This keep is only compatible with the Superlock range which includes the below locks:

BD Superlock Deadlock
BLD Superlock Latch Deadlock
BDG Superlock Digital Lock Double-sided
BDGS Superlock Digital Lock Single-sided
BQK Superlock Quick Exit Key Access
BQDG Superlock Quick Exit Digital Access

Interlocking keep – BSKS

The BSKS Superlock Secure Interlocking Keep has an extra feature as it interlocks when the gate is closed. This makes it harder to spring the gate open as it locks it in place. This means it requires a slightly more precise installation to make sure the male and female parts align.

Just as the BSK, this keep is also universally handed.

The interlocking keep is also only compatible with our Superlock bolt-on lock range, including the below locks:

BD Superlock Deadlock
BLD Superlock Latch Deadlock
BDG Superlock Digital Lock Double-sided
BDGS Superlock Digital Lock Single-sided
BQK Superlock Quick Exit Key Access
BQDG Superlock Quick Exit Digital Access

Gapless keep – BSKG

This keep – the BSKG – looks more like a simple strike plate compared to the other two. It offers an angled edge to help guide the latch bolt into the keep to lock the gate. It needs less precision than the BSK and BSKS, but also requires you cut a hole out in the gate frame for the bolt. As the other two options, this keep also includes two rubber buffers to help avoid loud slamming gates.

Because of its design, it works with a wider range of locks including the Superlock range and the Select Pro bolt-on lock range as well. Full list of compatible locks can be found below:
